getting crafty

i have recently begun crocheting again now that fall weather has arrived. i'm working on another blanket for jenna, but sometimes i like to work on smaller projects so that i can see a result more quickly. :) here is a mother/daughter winter hat set i just finished. i'm pretty proud of the finished product. i just learned how to do the pom poms. it was easy and turned out so cute!

if you listen carefully, you'll hear jenna say "hello" when she holds the phone up to her face. now that she's walking, this is typically what she does around the house.

happy halloween!

ok, so we got jenna dressed up to go to the fall festival in the girls' dorm, and we couldn't find our camera! luckily, andrew was in the girls dorm and took a picture with his phone. thank you andrew!!! sorry we don't have more.

she did pretty well, but was a little grumpy. we saw a glimpse of some molars coming through, so i'm assuming that was part of the issue. she was a cute little pumpkin, though! i don't think i've ever enjoyed halloween so much! :)

my one-year-old!

here's my beautiful one-year-old! i still can't believe it. even when she's playing she seems older. maybe it's just my perspective. who knows. regardless, she's as beautiful as ever and more and more fun each day.

birthday and first steps!

jenna's birthday party was a success. i was a little stressed out until the party got underway. once everything got started, i was able to relax a little more.

this isn't the greatest video, but we caught jenna taking a couple of steps. she's not walking much, but she takes about 3 steps at a time. it's so exciting! she actually took her first step on her birthday, so that was very special to me. :) it has been a wonderful weekend. even better than i hoped for.

she loves climbing these days.  mommy is having a difficult time with this, but i'm really trying to allow some exploration. i still can't believe she's turning one in just a week!

jenna is now standing up all by herself from a squatting position. she can stand for about 4 seconds before she falls. now that she's learned how to do it, she won't stop! so cute! :)

she can stand up for a good 15 seconds before she falls now. :)

you'll notice in a few of these photos that jenna has started doing this thing where she sticks out her tongue when she smiles. i really don't know why, but it's cute. :)

i just wanted to write a quick blog to let everyone know we got moved in just fine. it's feeling like home already. jenna seems to be adjusting well, and cameron and i are very excited about being back here. i'll update more later and get some pictures of jenna up as well. we love all of you very much!
